New Car-Share Program at SUNY Brockport

Through partnership with Enterprise Mobility
SUNY Brockport has partnered with Enterprise Mobility to offer a new car-sharing program for students, which began on February 9. The program is designed to reduce transportation barriers for students while supporting the University’s sustainability goals by offering an alternative to personal vehicle ownership. Through the partnership, students can rent shared vehicles by the hour or day for errands, appointments, internships, or work commitments.
“This program offers an economical solution for students who are unable or do not want to pay for a car, maintenance, or an annual parking pass,” said Johnna Frosini, SUNY Brockport’s Director of Parking and Transportation. “In addition to existing transportation options, students now have the ability to reserve personal transportation for exactly when they need it.”
The car-sharing program includes two vehicles—a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Camry—available for students 18 and older with a valid driver’s license, including international students. Rentals include fuel, insurance coverage, and a daily mileage allowance. Vehicles are parked on campus and available 24 hours a day; reservations are required.
Frosini said the program builds on a previous car-sharing initiative that ended during the pandemic and could expand in the future if demand increases. “This is another way to support the University’s goal of being a sustainable institution,” she said.
