Greece Post 468 headed to American Legion World Series

The Greece Post 468 American Legion Baseball team has had an incredible 2025 season. They won the American Legion Baseball New York State Tournament in Rochester on July 30 with a 6-5 walk-off win in the championship game against Hamburg Post 527. They went on to Northeast Regional Tournament held August 7–10 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, where they defeated Waterford (Connecticut) Post 161 by a score of 7-5 in the championship game. Those victories earned the Greece Post 468 team a trip to the American Legion World Series being held in Shelby, North Carolina, August 14–19. It was just getting underway at press time for this publication. This marks the first time in 23 years that a New York State team has reached the World Series stage. The last appearance came in 2002, when the Rockland County Pirates—also known at the time as the OTB Pirates—represented New York.
