The 1975–76 Kendall Varsity Boys Basketball Team was inducted into the Kendall Athletic Hall of Fame on February 12. Under Coach Dick Reynolds, the Eagles finished a flawless 22–0 season, extending an incredible 55-game win streak, and earning recognition as the No. 1 team in New York State. They also won four straight Section V Class C titles, were the Genesee Region Division II champions, and the Spencerport Christmas Tournament champions. The Monroe County Indoor Track & Field Championships were held on February 14 at SUNY Brockport. Three local athletes topped the podium for their individual events. Photos from @MCPSAC on X. Bridget Courtney, Spencerport, Girls 600 Run (1:38.46) Arlie Sears, Hilton, Girls High Jump (5’ 6”) Alexis Gerig, Hilton, Girls Pole Vault (12’ 1”)Brooklynn Fitzgerald (114 lb.) became the first-ever female Section V Wrestling Champion in Hilton school history. She started off in dominant fashion, needing only about 1:17 combined to rack up two 10-0 tech falls on her first two opponents. She then secured a few takedowns enroute to a 2:08 pinfall in her semifinal match. Brooklynn found herself up against Yailianys Lopez (Geneva) in the finals, whom she lost to 10-9 in the semifinals of the Canandaigua Revolution earlier this season. Brooklynn fell behind early when Lopez opened the scoring, but she bounced back and scored a reversal, which she converted to a pinfall at 1:39, securing the Sectional Championship. Brooklynn’s performance earned her the title of Most Outstanding Wrestler for the Lightweights. Photo from @HiltonCadets on X.Churchville-Chili’s Paul Glor was named the 2024-25 Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year by the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations). Only one coach in New York state in each sport receives this award annually. Although it is based on prior years’ work, Glor received the award on February 11. The match finished deadlocked at 40-40, but Holley-Kendall claimed the victory and the league title on the 9th criteria, securing their first G-R title since 2018. Pins from Jeremy Lutes, John Blosenhauer, Jack Brueilly, Brenden Eichas, Aiden McGrain, and Immanuel Cornell sealed the night, with a major decision from Matteo Caterisano helping power the victory.
